During the campaign, the candidate for governor told a group of statewide education organizations leaders that he favored school consolidation. He then backed off, probably due to a backlash. Now the administration is raising the consolidation issue and has asked the General Assembly to create a commission. If a commission is created, that entity should hold charter schools to the same enrollment standard as traditional school districts.
